Political Opportunities & Update - Memo from Abdul at Council 5

AFSCME Sisters and Brothers,

As you may know there is an election coming November 7th. The city election is for Council and Mayor and Park Board Commissioners. There are some events coming up this week, we’d like you to know about it. We have set of events scheduled for a door-knocking and phone banks through the Election Day. The people that get elected will be our bosses and set the course for the future of the City and our future as AFSCME workers for the City. If you are interested please sign it up here. I will give you a reminder calls a day before all events you sign up for it. It is our choice who we vote, but please consider the candidates recommended by your co-workers who spend countless hours screening them and holding them accountable. AFSCME backs candidates who supports our work and share our values. Election Day is less than three weeks. We need your energy and time; Please join me and other AFSCME sisters and brothers to make phone calls and door-knocks about elections and we’ll call our fellow members about connecting with our endorsed candidates.
